IENG 464 Senior Design Project I / IENG 465 Senior Design Project II

Credits: (0-2) 2 / Credits: (0-3) 3

Small groups of students work on original design projects. Topics are solicited from local companies, hospitals, banks, mines, government agencies, thus providing students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and techniques to real problems in business and industry. / As applicable, these are continuation projects started in IENG 464 .

Prerequisites: Senior standing or graduation within three semesters

Learning Objectives:

Students will demonstrate:

the ability to define a project objective, identify constraints and negotiate project scope.

the ability to manage resources to address time, budget, and functional performance for a project.

·

the ability to formulate and utilize an effective design process.

·

the ability to select and use effective analytical tools.

·

the ability to work as a team on a large, multi-disciplinary project.

·

the ability to produce and deliver professional design documentation, technical reports and presentations.
