Assignments 3
Solution Error: The posted solution to Assignment 3, part A.2
contained a mistake: For A.2:
the computed Z is -1.77 which IS less than the critical value of -1.64, so the
Null Hypothesis IS REJECTED. For A.3:
since we COULD REJECT the Null Hypothesis that the current mileage was
equal to or better than the previous year’s mileage, we still CANNOT CLAIM TO
HAVE THE SAME OR IMPROVED MILEAGE because this year’s mileage is
(statistically) significantly less. (74.63 MPG is worse than 75.09 MPG) That page of the HW solution has been updated
online. |
|
Assignments 1
& 2 linked on Materials page: The links are at the bottom of the Materials page
(assignments, only – no solutions yet).
You should have access to MS Excel to complete them. Assignments are not turned in for this course
– use them as study aids. E-mail the
instructor with any corrections or changes you would like to see – including
tips for specific problems. Solutions
will be posted later. |
